MN Newby 2001 XK8
I've lusted after Jaguars since I rode in an XKE 50 years ago. I found a gorgeous 2001 XK8 convertible, Roman Bronze with Cashmere interior, on eBay and got it! I've been driving it every nice day and having fun learning all the bells and whistles. I replaced the latch hoses after a green shower and probably should do the ram ones too. Need to have the front suspension refreshed; I suspect all the bushings and shocks are original. 80,000 miles on the odometer. I'm in Woodbury, a suburb of the Minneapolis/St Paul metroplex. We have one Jaguar dealer/garage here and several shops that specialize in foreign cars, so will be shopping around for best service.

Absolutely! This link to pics might work: Potvinguy Jag If not let me know and I can send pics. You know of course that Roman Bronze is quite rare and was only done in 2001. I think it is the most refined of all Jag colors.
I haven't had any work done here yet. Jag is in storage now for the winter. Next year I want to have new shocks and mounts and bushings up front. Probably will go to Luther Jaguar. Parts are cheap on Rockauto, but I imagine the dealer will want $$$ for the job. The front end creaks and I can see the bushings are all worn.
I see you're running a front plate. I haven't done that; I don't think the cops know or care. And next year our cars will be 20 years old and we can get collector plates. I have the paperwork ready and a list of names.
I go to the Hastings shows, but of course not this year. I also have a Karmann Ghia and a T-bucket. I did have a VW bug that I converted to electric, but I sold that last year to a fellow in Northern Ireland. Too many toys, says the wife.
Have you had the green shower yet? Messy business. There are better hoses available.
Hope we get rid of the virus and can cruise next year. This summer was really a bummer. All dressed up and no place to go.
