Default New 1999 XJR owner checking in

I recently purchased a 1999 XJR that is needing a lot of help. It appears to be a Canada market vehicle, from Carfax report. The previous owner put a 2002 XJR motor in it and didn't think there were any differences. Right now it has a 2002 ecu and wiring harness hooked up somehow. I have the old wiring harness, ecu, throttle body, and supercharger to put back on it.

Once the 1999 stuff is put back on I will need to source the camshaft reluctor as seen in this thread LINK. Then the last thing is checking the flex plate to see if it was changed. Hopefully those changes can get the car running again.

One thing I need some help with is dealer level trouble shooting/diagnosing. Since I only have one key as well I was looking at a WDS machine. Are the china WDS clones worth purchasing or is an old WDS the best way to go?

Here is what it looks like as of right now:

I look forward to getting this car back on the road and enjoying it.

Welcome to the forum Ozone240,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see from the LINK you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Southwest Region forum by following this link USA Southwest - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Definitely Canadian since it has headlight washers. Nice!
