New member here. Jag owner for one week
Hello all. I am brand new to this forum. I bought my first Jag last Saturday.
I saw an ad on one of the used sites here for an 87 XJS V12 for sale as a fixer-upper.
At first glance I new I was buying this car.
It has 183000 km and is in decent original condition with a re-paint (nice job as the color was changed slightly and they painted everything. Door jambs, under the boot lid, under the bonnet, real nice job but is a few years old and two small rust bubbles have started.
The interior needed some work (most of which I have already remedied in the last week) I reglued the headliner, removed the ratty wood veneer from the console and replaced it with black vinyl (looks awesome).
The car was missing the carpet on the flat bottom of the floors so I laid some new stuff.
The leather seats are nice but for a small tear on the passenger. It has a nice running V12 which I changed plugs in (Thanks Doug) that was a job.
I picked this car up for $1700 cdn. which I think was a steal given the condition. Anyhow, glad to be a member here and hope that I can be of help to some people in need as I am very mechanically inclined and have learned a great deal about these beautiful cars already in the last week.
