New Member Intro
Hi All,
Recently bought a 94 xjs v12 with 77K miles that has not been driven in a while. (I know I took a gamble here but what the heck.) I think I bought it after reading all the posts here. Anyway, this Jag is now in NY after its stay in Texas, Illinois, and NJ. The car has been inspected and is now being worked on by long time local mechanic. Thankfully there is absolutely no rust and the body is solid and straight. The only unexpected item has been the transmission warning light after few miles of driving. Based on what I read, I am hoping it's just the transmission power relay (waiting for relay to arrive). So far, I had complete front and rear brake job, including rotors anc calipers; all the fluids were flushed and replaced as well. Scheduled a tune up but not sure which brands I should be using. My plan is not to restore it but appreciate it's age and history by using it as my daily driver. (Personally, I prefer not to have a 24 year car looking like it just rolled off the assembly line.) I would appreciate it if someone could recommend best brand for the tune up --- spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor, etc. I will post pictures once I bring her home.
Feel free to share your ideas, thoughts and XJS wisdom. Love to hear your stories.

Welcome.
Well done.
Trans fluid, REPEAT, trans fluid is the #1 culprit of weird lights and behaviour in ANY car, not unique to Jaguars by any means.
Drop and refill the fluid a few times, so the concentration level of "fresh" rises slowly, maybe 5 times will be OK.
Good luck.
