Hi All
My name is Andrew and i am based in Manchester in the UK. I have bought a Jaguar XJC 5.7 V12 as a restoration project/resto rebuild. My plan is to hopefully look at replacing the engine with the supercharged engine out of the XJR. I have joined the forum to hopefully learn more about Jaguar restorations and the pitfall of using the XJR engine in different applications

Thanks

Welcome to the forums Andrew,

It's a trade-off between originality (and therefore maximising the value of a desireable and collectible vehicle) and convenience/robustness (with a consequent plunge in value) of a more modern powertrain. Either way, you have some serious work ahead of you.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Good luck with your p;roject and enjoy the forums.

Graham
