Default New X-Type owner in Scotland

Good Morning!

I'm Murray, from Edinburgh Scotland.

I got an X-Type last year, as I've always fancied one (the 2.5 AWD Estate in particular, so I found a 2005 SE in green) and my previous MG ZT was beginning to become expensive to look after @ 12 years old.

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it, even if a few little things have gone wrong so far (starter motor died, bad tracking wore out a rear tyre in ~300 miles, I can't figure out if there's a hands free system or how it works). Trip computer figures for economy are terrifying (16mpg in town, 27mpg on motorway) but going by refills that's better than my ZT managed...

Welcome to the forum Murray,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hi Murray - welcome, I've only just joined the forums too after browsing for some time. I just bought an X-type Estate 2.2 D - shocked to find the previous trip computer figures at 24 mpg (on a diesel!) anyhow it had a problem which has just been rectified (I hope) so waiting to see if this makes an improvement.
