Hi all.
Ex-Pat Canuck (east coast Maritimer), been living in the USA for 24 years.
Sold my street-strip 5.0 notch back 92 Mustang 5.0 almost a year ago... do not miss the car, but oddly enough miss owning it... was the first thing I ever worked/saved for/owned that was "nice", and owned it for 30 years.
My wifes daily driver is a 19 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.. stock, really quite enjoy that vehicle.
My daily driver is a 19 F150 Limited, with a custom tune.
I like the pickup, and it goes pretty good for a big truck, but I miss a rip snorty agile car.
Looking pretty hard at a local F type V8... but, only way it makes sense to me is to daily it and trade the F150 in on it.
Will try and find the right forum to research and ask about daily-ing an F type V8...
Take care.
.

Ya, there is that, I've had a pickup since I got my license 41 years ago... but for the last 10 maybe 15 years I've rarely used it for truck purposes... and even on those occasions, I'm pretty sure the Jeep GC with the rear seats folded would have worked just fine.
hmmm...

Truthfully, we Texans, as most humans, are not very logical creatures. Actually something like an old X-type wagon or XF sportbrake would handle 98% of our needs and desires between commuting, running errands, vacation trips, spirited driving and occasionally hauling larger items. But we give in to testosterone and buy a lifted 4x4 truck because it'll do that other 2% including carrying a sheet of plywood, pulling a trailer and going offroad,

It is handy tho to have a truck available whenever you need it. As a DIY'er restoring old cars and living in an even more antique house, it kinda makes sense for me to have a pickup. I tried the SUV thing for about three years before going back to a truck. I'll warn you that the main consideration, the wife is not going to be happy when you come home with very dusty bags of cement in her SUV or even at the suggestion of hauling something to the dump. One of my employees recently bought a 73 Ford Courier pickup that he uses just for Home Depot runs. I like the 67-72 Chevy C10s myself. Restored ones are pricey, particularly short-beds, but here in my neighborhood, there's five that I know of just sitting outside next to the house. They're not daily drivers anymore. They're not show trucks. They're just old pickups, modern enough with power steering and power brakes, and a pretty decent ride quality for a truck, that people have held onto for years so that they can go to the nursery and haul bags of mulch for the garden. Maybe that's your ticket. There's lots of old 70s and 80s Ford and Chevy trucks around. The small import trucks are a little more pricey to get a good one, but they are incredibly practical. Probably get a pretty decent running full-size old truck without too much "patina" for under $10,000. Just keep liability only-insurance. After all, there's no logic to buying an F-type either. It's all about figuring out how to justify what we want.
