Default Now a Jaguar owner!

I just bought my 2004 XJ8 with 50K miles on it, for $15,300. I probably could have bargained the dealer down. I'm a terrible bargainer. I didn't try because the price really was the best deal in my area (DC), considering mileage and condition.

Buy the Jaguar warranty, 4 yrs or 60K miles for $5600? I can cancel it after a year and get pro-rated money back if it turns out the car isn't a lemon.

Welcome to our world.

Nice choice of Jag for a "first timer".

No comment on the warranty, people in your market will give you better advice than me from down here. Those warranties down here are mostly full of loop holes in their favour.

Condition looks like a sales brochure! Nice choice. Welcome aboard from Australia (the first two are aussies)?
Same as above I wouldn't know about the warranty but it sounds a bit expensive, but could be piece of mind. Our after market warranties are only valid if you don't drive it, basically.

Welcome to the forum Xeno,

A great looking X350. Follow Steve's link to thr tech section for help, advice and information.

Read the small print on any Warranty. Whether you need spend the equivalent of more than a third of the vehicle cost on a warranty depends on how much you know about Jaguars or how much you're prepared to learn.

Enjoy the XJ8 and the forum.

Graham

Congrads on your new jag Xeno. When I bought mine the dealer would not budge a penny and it was on the higher end of book price. Being in showroom shape and having the Select Edition Warranty made me call them back the next day buy it. I thought they would have called me with a lower offer by the time I got home. Two years later I am as happy as the day I drove it home.

Welcome to the forum.

Seems a hefty layout for a warranty on a 15k car.

Good to see you.
