Default Potential future owner - need advise

I'm a potential owner in the market for a used Jaguar S-Type. This will be a daily driver for me. I've never owned a Jaguar, currently own two Mercedes Benz' (C63 AMG and C230Kompressor). I have been searching for an S-Type R and came across this one: Used, Certified Jaguar at BMW of Austin Serving Austin, Round Rock, & Cedar Park, TX

Any advise anyone can provide would be appreciated. General questions: how do these transmissions hold up to high mileage, the same with the supercharger...

Thanks.

Thank you for your warm welcome and direction to do some research. I am completely unfamiliar with Jaguar and Ive always admired the brand. Yes, there is a wealth of information on this forum and I've learned some things in only a day. Grateful.

I have a general question, is the reliability (in general) better or the same for a S-type compared to a STR? (Being that is normally aspirated, non-supercharged? I am considering both, but this will end up as my daily car...anyway, I value opinions and never take things personal...life is just too short. Thanks again.

The STR has a lot of fans here simply because of the extra power. From posts on the forum it would seem no less reliable than the N/A but slightly more difficult to work on.
