Hi. Been playing with mechanical things, especially automobiles since a very young age. Raced a bit in the 1970's until it became very expensive (SCCA)...then on to superbike racing (less costly). Over the years have built everything from SCCA British Leyland (back when they were seriously competitive...prior to the advent of the 914-6) so I date myself...all the way to Winston Late Models and ARCA cars. All the while driving pretty much what I pleased on the street.

Spent time in the service (USMC/10 Years, USARNG, 5 Years). Currently working as an electronics engineer, specializing in cell systems. I've owned over 100 cars by now...previously looking for something quicker and more entertaining but lately thinking of a retirement period project. Tempted to go for speed once again but remembering one of my favorite racing teams...maybe even my all time favorite...Group 44 and the XJS they were racing along with the Silk Cut GTP...anyway...I've never owned an XJS and so there it is. I searched for a late 70's and found a complete '77 but the body rust was extensive. Found an '87 that has the pieces that I believe I can work with. Tempted to put a stick in it but will probably go more the 700R4 route. The engine is smooth and willing...some smoke when it warms up...okay...lots of smoke. Need to sort that out. And the brakes...etc. Thank you for allowing me to be here and hang out with the pros.

Kevin
