Default Advice on supercharged s type

Hi guys new to forum

I have looked at getting a supercharged s type ( I have a dirty diesel 2002 at the mo)

I found one but it is a 2001 supercharged??

But I thought the supercharged s type was not introduced until 2003??

Any advice would be appreciated

Many thanks

Paul

The UK got a very few 2002.5 STR's. These were the very first ones.
The rest of us did not get the STR until 2003. But the STR only used the 4.2L engine and not the 4.0L engine.

So I am pretty sure there are no 2001 STR's but if you look at it send in a couple of pictures because you just never know what they produced.

Over on the Lincoln LS board it was found a small number of Lincoln LS's were sold into Japan. RHD and everything!

The R was introduced as model year 2002.5 in the UK and 2003 for ROW, 2001 can't be right.

Any pics?

2001 can be right - for a pre-production car. Investigate closely but also worry about spares if that's what it is. The only one I know about has a weird setup.

I'd suggest a pre-production car with a weird setup certainly wouldn't be right, for most people anyway.

I'd expect what you pay would just be the deposit for much more.

It is a 2001 or just on a (UK) 51 plate? The earliest STRs I'm aware of were February 2002, which falls into the 51 range.

I'm not clear when the 3 STRs produced in the 1999-2001 period were registered but those 3 are shown in the official numbers obtained from Jaguar. This car may be one of them.
