Default HELP! // Enter system pin

Hello Jaguar owners,

I am a Jag S-type 2003 owner and I have a problem with my system. It appeared after I took my car at the service, where they replaced some parts.

After I got my car the Navi screen had this "Enter system pin" message and I don't know what it is all about.

It's a 4 digit pin code that should enable my system to full funcionality (as listen to radio and CD, navi and all that...)

The problem is that I entered 3 times different codes and it the system seems to be blocked.

My questions are:

Why did I get this system pin message at all, having in mind that everything was working perfectly when I left my car at the service?

And How can I get things work again?

I would appreciate any help and comments.

Thanks and all the best,

I.N.

ITS ASKING FOR THE RADIO CODE WHICH SHOULD BE ON A CREDIT TYPE CARD WITH YOUR OWNERS MANUAL AND BOOKS, IF NOT CALL THE DEALER BACK AND HAVE THEM LOOK IT BACK UP FOR YOUR VIN IN DDW. ONCE YOU ENTER THE WRONG CODE 3 XS YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE IGNITION ON 45 MINUTES TO AND HOUR. AND RIGHT THE NUMBER DOWN CAUSE ANYTIME THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED ITLL ASK FOR THE CODE

Hi again!

So today I switched the ignition on and after some 15-20 minutes it was ready to enter the pin again. I checked at my Jag manual, where I found a card with a pin code written on it, so I entered it and everything started to work perfectly.

Thank you very much for the help, especially to BRUTAL.

I.N.

Yeah Thanks for the suggestion h20boybut I've got my manual in German and I know no German so this is why I haven't still gone over it.

What do you mean by am-scaying?

Global Open for example will either be your best friend or your worst enemy.

Hello to all veteran Jag owners,

I just got an XJ6 2004. It did not have the navigation CD/DVD. The display inside is asking me to enter the system PIN. The PIN seeems to be a 4-digit number. I tried many standard PIN looking numbers like 0000, 9999 1234 1111, etc... but none of them worked. As I read in the thread, it says that there should be a card (with the manual) with the PIN written on it. I have neither. Is there any way to get the PIN with the help of my VIN/ Chassis number. Without this PIN I cannot use any function on the display (except the climate control). Also, where do I get the Navigation CD for it ? Is the PIN issue related to the Navigation CD in any way ?

Please help with all possible advice.

Thanks.

Well follow Brutals instructions. Have you called the dealer with your VIN?

The dealer's like getting ripped off. So I thought I may first look at other avenues. But guess I may have to go to the dealer now. Will keep you all updated with the results in few days.
Thanks to all.
