Default Right Rear Bumper bracket

Hey guys, does any of you know how to take out the bumper brackets. I know how to take out the bumper, what I need is to take the bracket out of the bumper.

I have the right rear bumper bracket broken, and need to take it out and try to repair it, if the rapair doesn't work I will need a new bracket (the one I found was too expensive for a bracket compare to other vehicles ) .

There are 3 clips like this all with the broken part of the bracket (I know how to take those out)

And the bracket is attached to the bumper by this (this is the part that I need help with)

Is there a way to take out the bracket without breaking the thing that hold it to the bumper, or do I have to break this things?

If the only answer is to break those things, what can I use to re install the bracket to the bumper?

Thanks in advance!!

I think you are going to have to remove the bumper cover.
When doing this you will almost certainly find some of the fixing screws are rusted solid. It is quicker to drill them out or even grind the head off with care than it is trying to free them. But you may be lucky.
When re-fitting use all new stainless steeel screws and captive nuts, not the genuine Jaguar ones that are mild steel and will rust again.
The bracket is quite long and looks like this:

Expect to pay between £15 and £20 for a new bracket, they are £19.43 + postage from Jaguar.

Hi Mellow, thanks for the answer. I found exactly that part and by the picture I think is the same seller, the problem is that the seller is in England and postage from there to the States is US$65, after that I have to add US$5 more to ship it to the Dominican Republic, that's why I will like to try to fix it first lol.

Yes, from what I can see some of the fixing screw are rusted. Can you post pictures of what type of stainless steel screw and captive nuts are you referring, quick google search and found different kinds.

But the part that I really need is on how to remove the bracket from the bumper cover, it has some sort of rivet ( see pictures in first post). And what do I need to reinstall the bracket to the bumper cover if those "rivets" need to be broken (rivets, screw and nuts, other)

Yes they are pop rivited on with five or six on each side. You will need to drill the rivets out and then use others to re-fit. (Sorry I do not know the size.)

My bag of ss screws and captive nuts for the bumper covers, inner wheel arch covers (and engine bay lower cover, I think?) are in the car I will get them out later if I remember.
I just purchased 50 of them by size not long after I got the STR almost six years ago now. From what I can recall they have a hex (alan key) head not star drive as per the original ones.
I also have a bag of 40mm SS repair washers that fit these screws and come in handy if the plastic area around the fixings is damaged as well.

Not much to see, but here they are:

They came in bags of 25, the screws do have a hex/alan key head. (The originals have a star drive head.) There were also small SS washers and small nylon washers in the bags but these are not needed on the S-Type.

I am sorry but I got these over five years ago now, I do not recall where they came from.

i recently repaired this bracket and used a strong epoxy glue and used short metal strips in the glue to act as braces to strengthen the bond on both sides of where the mounting points were broken. Without that the bracket will brake again because the bumper is held on with considerable force at those points.
Re-attach the bracket to bumper using generic short, approx 2-3cm bolt with nut and washer and crank it down tight using a socket wrench in the holes left from where the rivets previously were.
it’s pretty easy to do 👍
