Smile shifter stuck in park / please help

i need your alls help, I've read some threads and looks like a common problem with 01 s types. i was parked in the drive way that has incline , i had to pull down hard to get it unstuck from park, i was able to get it unstuck but am sure ive stretched the cable cause now it wont go in drive with out moving over to lower gear ,sure hoping it overdrive, What is the phone number for ordering the metal part to replace the plastic part under the shifter somewhere?? Is the shifter hard to get apart ?? Do you all agree that my cable is probably stretched? is that easy to replace ?? Any other parts that i need to replace ?? any advise would be greatly appreciated. thx

Hey guys I also had the same problem, this is what I did to make it work again. i have a 2003 s-type automatic , I remove the whole shifter, then I removed the cable that's connected at the bottom of the shifter it looks like a bicycle brake line, leave this cable disconnected when you go back to install the shifter, then I used a piece of plastic to keep the shifters locking SOLENOID on the open position, then re-stall the shifter, now the only thing is that you can shift the shifter with out the car being on, but it better then paying $400 for a new shifter.

Plenty of previous posts you should read.
