Default Traction Control Light Staying On

Hello fellow members , a small problem has occurred with our 2001 Jaguar S Type Sport 3.0 .. Earlier on in the week the car was serviced and since it returned the warning light on the dashboard is illuminated , warning that the traction control is switched off ( amber wheel skidding style light ) but on checking the switch next to the sport control button in front of handbrake , the light on the switch comes on then off as normal , yet leaves the light on dashboard . Been back to garage and they say that the light was not on during the service and it must be a very recent fault , but cannot determine what it might be. Does anyone have any experience of this fault and how to fix it , best regards , pauljag ..

Hi Paul, see if the mechanic will be nice enough to read the ABS system to obtain the code(s)

Yes, this. It's usually a wheel-speed sensor, I've had two of those pop in about five years.

Read any codes stored as they will point to the problem. Most often a wheel speed sensor is faulty.

There were no further codes on the garages OBD reader. It showed clear.

if your question is addressed to "jimgoose," he has not been active on the forum since February 2000, so you may not get a reply; this is the problem with resurrecting archival threads on the forum.

You also already have a thread going on this topic and multiple threads are frowned upon as the information/responses get spread over multiple threads making it difficult for us to try to help you...
