Default 2002 3.0l auto trans - level plug location

Ok guys, I feel like the dumbest guy in the room. Searched all over the forum (and google) and under my car but I cannot locate the trans fluid level plug per the photos that have been posted. I found the tranny fill and drain plugs as well as the TC plug.

Any help would be appreciated. Apologies in advance if perhaps I am missing something obvious.

The fluid level plug and drain plug are one and the same, It just depends what part you unscrew.

Here is a TSB for trans leak and fluid level check.

Thanks, but I can't access the PDF because of a permission problem. I am logged in so I am not sure why?

That's for an S-Type. Completely different setup.

Sorry!!!
I thought I was in the S-Type section.
Similar setup with the level tube in the bottom.
Same gearbox as the VW jetta 09A (JATCO)

Is there a doc that describes how to do this?

I guess I am confused a little, I thought it was the same as the other photos that I have seen where there is a level plug.

The fluid level is checked @ 35 degrees centigrade. Here is a Rover bulletin.

Freelander - Gearbox Fluid Level - Plug Location - Land Rover

The JATCO JF506E is used in the VW jetta, Rover freelander and Jaguar X-Type.

Level plug is the 5mm allen socket on the bottom of the gearbox.

Don't remove or loosen ANY OTHER BOLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just did a quick google search for JF506E fluid level check and found lots of info.

Check the FAQs, I posted a very clear picture of the location. It is right next to the gear selector cable on the bottom of the trans.

Thanks gold_04, I did look at your picture but I was not sure if that was from the 3.0l auto.

I found it, and please excuse my ignorance. I was expecting the plug to be on a vertical surface not on the bottom (I did not realize that your pic was taken directly in an upward direction.

Thank you everyone for your assistance.
