Would some kind member help with the following.
2005 X type 3L auto.
I don't think my car has the cooler plate fitted. It's hard to relate the illustration in the w/s manual to the underside of the car. Could a kind member send me a photo from the underside of their car showing the cooled plate in position. From reading I have done it important to have this cooler plate fitted. part no. c2s18834.
Second request, is there an aftermarket product to use in lieu of the factory sealer that goes under the nut in the output shaft on the T/F case part no. c2s12099. Listed at David Manners and Barratts at 222.85 pounds sterling which is $427.31 plus freight in Aussie dollars. would need to be a world wide brand that we may have in Australia. I think I have a sight leak from this nut.
David Bruce Queensland Australia.
Any replies very much appreciated.

Many thanks Dell. I was hoping you would reply because you are such a fountain of knowledge on the X type. I have checked out all the suggested links. A question. I live in a subtropical climate summer temps 25 to 35 deg C. I don't have the cooling scoop and don't know how long it's been missing, car is used as our second car mostly used on club runs 100 to 150 km. Do I need a scoop?
Opinion would be valued.
Kindest regards,
David Bruce.
I tore mine off on my trip home to Utah ( over 22 100° F days this summer and 2 months over 90° F) from purchase in NJ in a 5 State blizzard. Never replaced it and yes this would be contrary to the manufacturer's intent. Given that I also don't follow their "sealed for life" guidance, I've elected to renew/replace the fluids to counteract the excessive (?) heat that cooks the fluid to begin with.
Thanks again for the quick reply. I will stress about the cooling scoop. As recommended on this forum I will change he fluids. First job the transfer case oil.
We are so lucky in this day and age to have the internet and helpful and knowledge at the other end of our computer.
Regards,
David Bruce.
