Default New owner need help

I just bought myself a 2002 jaguar x-type, never owned a jaguar before and I'm in love with it and it's cool features but I unfortunately need help with a electrical problem I can't seem to find a good answer to. So my running lights don't work I've been pulled over by police and it and how it's a hazard driving at night with no running lights, I figured it could be a bad fuse so I go to check the owners manual and this is where I get lost. I have 2 books that came with the car, the driver's handbook supplement book and the driver's handbook, from what I've found online people are saying the fuse for the lights is fuse F62 so I look in both books I just mentioned and they are labeled 2 different fuses, in the driver's handbook supplement F62 is labeled as a mini 7.5 amp brown fuse but in the driver's handbook F62 is labeled as a mini 10 amp red fuse. I'm thinking the books are not for the same jaguar model? Anyway I need advice for the running lights, my lights are not automatic I have to turn a switch to turn on lights when it gets darker out. Thanks in advance

You can probably get them enabled by a dealer but why would they not already be?

I'm a bit confused by your term "running lights", U.S. (at least mine) Jags do not normally have DRL's (daytime running lights). On my manual switch (1. low, 2. main, pull once for front fog, once more for rear fog) & then one more setting (3.) if I turn knob one click more is "Automatic" where sensor and car determine when to turn on lights as conditions warrant.

I am guessing that your are talking about the front/side/rear parking lights.

Passenger Compartment Fuse Box - (Driver's side dash)

F63 - 7.5 amp mini (Brown) - Right side
F64 - 7.5 amp mini (Brown) - Left side

See attached below for fuses. - Click once to open and click again to zoom in

Have you checked any wire connections? Previous owner may have disconnected them.

Here is an electrical drawing that isolates the wires and connections for the two circuits involved with the parking lights from the fuse box to ground.

Click on drawing once to open it then click on it again to zoom in.

Good luck tracing down the short(s)..
Hope this helps.

People have had issues with the rear lights, the plug/connector melts. Worth checking.

I did kinda look at the connectors when I unplugged the tail lights to replace bulbs thinking that was the problem and the connectors didn't look damaged but I will look again
