Miguel,
how did the screen go blank?
did you start the car one day and it was blank or did you go into the system and press the update button?
if its the latter then the Loading .KWI file should resolve the problem.
if it just went blank during normal use you are probably looking at a hardware issue like a bad dvd player or wiring.
We know you have power going to the Dvd player as you were able to load the disk.
one thing to try that has worked for others is disconect the negative terminal of your battery for a couple of hours. with the LOADING.KWI disc still in the drive.
then reconnect the battery turn on the ignition and wait the 15 mins.
if the 50-51 does not display this is a good sign that the file is loading.
good luck and keep us posted

Hi Paulc732,
Above all, many thanks for trying to help me out… (I am going crazy with this…)
I bought the car on Friday and the garage from where I got it was unable to give me the code for the radio system as it was required on the display. They advised me to go to Jaguar or get it from the internet. I went to Jaguar and the code they gave me was not working. (Being told that the radio was probably not the original and I have to dismantle the thing to get the number from the back)… What I have done… I went to youtube and get a way of pressing multiple keys to go to the system… The last thing I do remember was to press a key on the display saying (S/W) ??? Since then, the screen went black and started flashing (EXT 50) and (51) alternately… I didn’t know what is going on until I joined this forum and recognized the numbers were codes… To increase the problem, my heating was set to high and now I have no chance to turn it off and I have to drive with the windows open, (otherwise, I will roast…)
I tried what you suggested and I left the car with no battery for 3 hours… Still the same !!! I have disconnected the battery again and I will leave it all night… I will repeat the step tomorrow…
Once again, many thanks for your help… (That is good to have it once we are so desperate with the cars…)

what software did you use to burn the LOADING.KWI file?
I know personally that it works with Roxio (just an fyi)
I know others on here have had success with other "free" software check the thread on blank nav screen.

Hello, I again for jaguar ext 50 51 workshop was they tried to put the blame did not find any other navigation discs also did not help that I have Kwi file recorded 10 DVD disks and nothing happens. jaguar center said that they do not know what's wrong and work hour costs 50 euro + - repair the day but that is not guaranteed to find fault. I maybe wrong article, I use to drive powersio program and the article as a data cd / dvd probability to be written differently maybe need another file? please help
Many Thanks for all your help!
I just swapped the DVD and all done!
Its asking now for the SYSTEM PIN...
I will try to see if anyone can help!
Miguel
Glad to hear it worked for you, sorry I cant help with the code as it is not required over here in the States. Your Jag dealer should be able to look up the code for you.
