hello
i need to replace the suspension in my 2002 x-type coz they died.
when gone to order new ones, i noticed there are sport ones and comfort ones.
the Q is, are the sport and comfort ones the same except stiffeness?
i mean will both fit and same in regards ti fitting or they both differ.
if both fit i would like to get the sport one?
any one know whats the difference between comfort and sport?

sport springs are designed to lower vehicles to give them a more aggressive stance and reduce the vehicle’s fenderwell gap, reduce ride height and have higher spring rates and lowers the center of gravity which increasing the vehicle stability at very high speed. Sports are genrally used for the Driving in Dry and Track road.
Where as Comfort spring absorbs the vibrations and shocks very smoothly and generally used in snow and wet road.

 

Scooby, yes, the sport springs will fit, but they sit 1.4" (40mm) lower than the non-sport springs. If you don't mind a slightly stiffer ride, then by all means. But, I would also recommend getting atleast the sport struts for the front end. The rear is fine.

 

Are you talking about factory springs or aftermarket. The aftermarker ones are similar - comfort springs tend to be lower spring rate (softer) and about 12mm lower than stock while sport springs tend to lower about 30mm give or take. I don't think the factory sport spring provide a full 1.4", but would guess around an inch compared to the base model springs. They are definitely a higher spring rate though and therefore stiffer.

If you don't intend to change the ride height, my guess is that you only need to replace your shocks and struts and can retain your factory springs. Save your money.

Tx for the info thermo it took me 16 hours to getting it done, all I need now is torque specs if u know it.

 

Anyone know the torque specs for the rear shocks?
