The definitive guide to finding your Sirius Module
When I bought the XF there was no way to activate Sirius because the display didn't show the Radio ID and a VIN search on their website showed nothing. Searching these forums I found this was a common issue, and the only way to get the ID was to find the module, but no one knew where it was. Last week after spending 20 hours in a car with SiriusXM I decided i wanted to get it, so I found where the module was and took pics to help others be able to get to it. Here we go!
Tools needed: 1/4 and 1/8 inch Socket Wrenches, with a long 10mm socket and an E12 Torx socket. Not Pictured: Beverage of choice.
First, move the drivers seat all the way forward, then remove the 2 torx bolts in the back.
Then move the seat all the way back and remove the front 2 bolts.
Tilt the seat back, but don't worry about undoing wires or the seat belt, the seat doesn't need totally removed. This is also a great time to vacuum out the black hole between the seat and the center console!
Beneath the seat you'll see where the carpet ends over top the carpet for the rear. Lift up on this carpet to expose whats underneath. You might have to remove the "Jaguar" tread panel to release enough carpet, I did not.
That black box is the phone module, and it held in place by 2 10mm nuts located in the circles in the pic below
Once removed, lift up the module and remove the phone wiring to give you enough slack, the other wire doesn't really need removed.
There is a metal bracket covering the module, you may or may not need to remove it in order to read the number. I went ahead and removed it by removing the 2 10mm nut located in the circles below
Once removed, voila, there's your Sirius module. Here's an image showing where it is in relation to everything else:
Reverse the instructions to put everything back together, and use your radio ID to call Sirius and get some tunes! Hope this helps someone down the road.
I just searched for all this and yours was the only reference for the NO ID problem, of which I suffer.
The bad part..... I have a 2010 XKR. BUT, I'll still give your method a shot, maybe I'll get lucky. I see no reason it would be much different between the two body styles.
Not there. I grabbed my 40¢, vacuumed up the rest, then decided to look in the trunk next to the battery where the Nav Unit is located. There it was, under the Phone module. It was actually pretty easy, as the three bolts were accessible without removing the phone module. Now I have all my info. A bit clumsy to access, way up under where the convertible top stows but not horrible.
Once you contacted Sirius, did your ID show up on the SAT screen? I'd hate to go through all this and then lose it again. I asked my Jaguar dealer about it but haven't heard a reply.

reading > me, i didn't even realize you were talking XKR and not XFR! And i even typed it, and it didn't connect! You mentioned convertible top and I'm like huh?! LOL my fault, but I'm glad you found it! I don't recall my ID showing on my screen, but once you create an account online you should be able to see it there. Plus i took pics of mine and with my pics backed up on Google photos I'll have it forever
Yep, I used the original "New Car Free Three Months" deal since evidently it was never activated before, and now everything is copacetic.

ry contacting a dealership !.... They have a website called JLREXT.COM that keeps all VINs with the associated components and serial numbers associated with the factory installed components.
Essentially.. a complete Jaguar car database that they use when they sell a new or used car.
One of the items on the list for my VIN was: SDAR - Satellite Digital Audio Radio ... with the serial number to use for the SiriusXM connection.
That's how I retrieved my 'missing' Radio ID. Removing your driver seat for that info sounds crazy
There is an access on jlrext.com for Dealers and there's an access for Registered Members, of which I became. I could not access the Dealer Access so I tried to find out the Sdar ID through the Registered Member access by listing the VIN and the Sdar for said VIN number. The results come up and I sifted through the information related to my request. Yet, I could not find the sat radio ID number. So, it was obvious the Dealer Access was much different than mine and according you, it would list the VIN number and the satellite radio ID along with it. I contacted the Dealership I bought the car from, but the guy no longer worked there. Instead there was a lady I talked to. I mentioned the website and the dealer access, she didn't seem to know anything about it. Tell me what you specifically did, did you contact the dealership and talk to the Dealer who then looked up your VIN number and gave you the sdar ID for your 2010 Jaguar xf? Please advise, I'm at my wits end trying to find this ID number without taking my car apart.
