At those crazy prices, are people really spending $200 to replace all 4, or are they just washing them?

There was another thread on it somewhere that said it was the same filter as another car and you could get them for much cheaper.

The filter on my 09 is just under the front left side driver's seat. You twist and it pops right out. It's very easy to access.

It a Ford seat filter. You can find them online for about $25 each.

I just take mine off and blow air backwards to clean them out.

You can replace the filters for about 50p each:

Buy some thin polyester wadding from your local cloth factory outlet shop. It is used in quilting - you want the thin one that is about 5mm thick. You'll need to buy off the roll (typically 1.5m/5ft) so you'll end up with a lot left over. Take your old filter out and use it to template the new one making sure to cut the wadding 5mm larger than the disc. Use a sharp knife to cut off the old wadding from the plastic ring, then use normal cyanoacrylate glue to glue the ring to the new wadding, applying pressure until it has set. Then reinstall the filter.

Can anyone tell me where these filters are and whether a 2009 XFSC would have them?

Just a matter of googling my friend. Your first google is on me, but I am sorry to say that you'll have to learn to do it yourself from now on:

Does anyone know if the dealer changes all 4 of these filters when they do the service or just the two on the seat bottom?

Probably none of them. I doubt it's on the service schedule, and even if it was, I really doubt they would bother for the included service contracts.

It's part of the 4th year service, at least on the 2012.

Ok thanks. Not going to do that, looks like a recipe for breaking fiddly bits of expensive plastic.

Yes, the 2009 SC has seat filters. Look under your front seat. There is a white circle with a black plastic ring just under the left front seat. You twist and it comes out.
