Question Help desperately needed

Hi good people
Im new to the site and desperate for help with OPENING THE BOOT ON MY 2008 XF. Earlier I was away for a few months and STUPIDLY I decided to DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. Then LIKE AN IDIOT, just after I had slammed to boot shut, I realised what I’d done but because I had to leave, I manually locked the car and went.
Now I’m back, I’m trying to get back into the boot to reconnect the battery.
I’ve tried to open it with the smart key but despite lot of WD40 it just will not turn.
I’ve been onto my main dealer were of no help
locksmiths also say that they cannot help and I’m not sure where to go or what to try next.
So PLEASE is there anyone here that can tell me how/if I can get into my boot to reconnect the battery
Thanks

Assuming your car has an electric release button in the cab this video shows you how to get power back in to the car. It's for an F150 but the same principles apply. Jumper leads from another car should do the trick - the only hard part might be getting at the starter - not sure where its located on your car. Hope this helps.

>or this....
But didn't he say he disconnected the battery? Wouldn't that mean the the entire electrical system is an open circuit?
With the battery disconnected how would zots flow from the red wire in the video to the/any negative/ground connection?

No. I'll try and attach the circuit diagram, that should clarify it for you.

Let us know if this works or not?
We have had several people rip the rear seats out to get to the manual release handle and your way would be WAY better!

oh, my bad.....If you go to youtube and view the page itself you will see many comments attesting to it working. Looking at the schematics, it will of course work . Have you found a problem ?
I personally woud look for an electrical solution to an electrical problem before getting out my hammer !!!

Yes but with the battery disconnected in the trunk will that still work? I don't know?
The last guy with this problem (Completely disconnected battery) managed to snake a piece of wire into the trunk thru the rear seats and he snagged the manual release handle to pop the trunk lid.

Thank you for the real life confirmation ! The schematic diagram clearly shows that the booster battery would be in parallel to the main battery so there is no question - it will work- but for some reason some people here seem difficult to convince !
Anyway no sign of the OP so we are chatting amongst ourselves .....
