Default Paint codes for alloys and body - Supersport

Hi all,

As above looking for the paint codes for the alloys and the body... I believe body is on a panel / sticker in one of the doors

But how or where can I find the one for the grey supersport alloys? Anyone know it?

Thanks!

I tried to get that paint code and even powder coat from Jaguar and the wheel manufacturer (ATS) and they told me to go pound sand. So I use a wheel repair company Wheel Wizard ((770) 451-6333) and we came up with a powder coat color that is as close as we could find. Had all my Matiava wheels (6-3 front and 3 rear) refinished so I have spares if i curb a wheel. They look great. They are on the web, call them and tell them that Robert Hirsch referred you and they my tell you the powder coat that they got for me. BTW my wheels have powder coat color and then a clear coat finish.

Can you include some pictures of the new wheels? Thanks.

YOu may want to check out Alloy wheel refurb using Wurth products!. JimC64 found a color that was supposed to be pretty close.

In the past, if you take the exterior paint code to a paint store, they have a book that should list all the associated colors with a vehicle. So, for example, if you have an XJ with the black package, it would list the body color, but also the dark grey that is used for the black out, plus any other color that may be sprayed onto the car at some point.

Thanks all

Will see what Jaguar say as it is going for service soon, hopefully they'll know and share the code for the wheels

Not repainting the entire alloy, just touching up, so it will have to be exact and not just similar

Again, I spoke to my dealer, called and wrote Jaguar North America who said it was a proprietary color that only the wheel manufacturer had. So I called and emailed ATS said no to giving out that information. This was 9 months ago. I have attached my written correspondence for your information.

I guess one of the options that you have is some of the bigger automotive paint shops have a special machine that will analyze the paint color and provide an exact match. In short, they stick the machine up next to what you want to color match (in this case, the wheel) and they shine a bright light against the wheel. This allows the machine to figure out what colors are in the paint and then spits out a mix for getting that same color. Then it is up to the tech to add the right amount of metallic flake if needed. Once you get the analysis done, they should give you a list of colors and quantities to remake the color in the future.

Thanks guys

XJsss I wasn't ignoring or disregarding your initial post, I was simply hoping Jaguar UK may be more helpful haha. Or maybe they even have some touch up paint they use for used cars before they sell them?

Reason I can't contact your powder coater is beacause I'm just touching the wheels up in a couple of places, rather than recoating the whole alloys

Ha thanks, any chance you know if the 'paint code' is the same, regardless of powder coat or liquid paint? In that case, your repairer may very well be worth a call

Thanks

In my research I have found the Mataiva wheel color referred to as either Anthracite (original color description) or Technical Gray (more recent description). If you call Wheel Wizard, ask for Janice, I have dealt with her 90% orf the time and she can ask the painter.
