Smile Wiper blade washer hose replacement

Hi folks,

I have an issue with the driver-side windscreen washer on the wiper blade on my 2014 X351 — while the passenger side washer works fine, I can see that the base of the hose that joins the blade to the cowl must be cracked/broken, as I can see the water spraying/leaking behind the arm's rotor when the pump runs.

It's 3 or 4 cm beneath the point where the pipe connects to the cowl with a square/cube-ended connector (weird!). So I need to replace the tube, and I expect that connector too. Photo attached (taken with a flash, bit of a mess, but at least you can see the square/cube connector) 👍

Might anyone be able to suggest where I could source these parts? Anyone else had to change them? Any and all advice really welcome

Thank you!!

GT

Looks like a little growth on that wiper arm.
The part number for the grommet that the hose plugs into is C2C5840.
Your local dealership should be able to help you with that, or if you need the hose assembly they should be able to help you with that too.

Thanks so much!! Can you believe I've never seen https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/ before? 🤦

And yes, it does need a good clean. The in-the-dark-flash-photo makes it look worse but that's British weather for you 🤣

Reading the wiper arm detail it seems that I'd need to replace the whole arm to replace the broken hose. To be honest I assumed I'd need to replace the grommet *if* I replaced the hose, but I think I'm going to remove the arm (carefully &#129315 and see if I can repair the hose 👍

Couldn't have got here without this info, thanks again 👍

So, I think I've been quite lucky here There's a split (actually more of a slice) a couple centimetres from the grommet that I can easily reach and should be able to repair.

Looking at the routing of the hose I wonder if it's been wrapped underneath the rotor and trapped/sliced as the years have gone by.

I moved it over the wiper arm by rotating it clockwise around the grommet and it looks a lot more 'comfortable'. Could be completely wrong of course

Thanks for your help folks!

Yes the wiper rubbed a hole in the hose. So it must have been routed wrong?

Yep, I *think* so, but I've never had to touch the wiper arms, so either it's always been that way or a service has changed it.

If you look at the horribly grubby picture from yesterday you can see that same hose going beneath the rotor, which I think means it could have got trapped and damaged.

The assembly isn't the same on the passenger side (mine's a right-hand drive) so I've nothing to compare it with, but if I find a picture anywhere I'll drop a copy in here. Now it's time for some rubber repair.

Here is a pic of the routing for the driver's side wiper arm on our XJ.
Hose is routed under the arm, into the channel that accommodates it as it runs up the arm...

And the same for the passenger side wiper arm..

Auto parts stores generally have various sizes and types of hose available that could replace the hose, although the fittings aren't as easy to find outside of the dealership.
I assume auto parts stores in the UK are also stocked with various hose offerings that you could take the damaged hose in for a match.

Thanks @12jagmark , so yours is left-hand drive. This is the orientation that I found the hose in, perhaps it got trapped if the hose was tightened/pulled shorter after a blade change or similar. There's not a lot of play once the arm rotates about 90° or so.
