Default Rear Electronics Module trouble code

I used my key fob to open my car a few days ago and noticed that the rear tail lights did not flash nor did I hear the horn beep. I got home and ran the immobilization and REM set-up using SDD. At the end of the set-up the SDD had a 0xFFF6 code that it was unable to re-set. I figured that the REM was bad, so I got a used one, however, when I connect it to the car horn immediately start blowing and I can't stop it with the key fob. Can anyone advise on this issue. Thanks.

Put original REM in. Use a genuine tool to reflash if needed and of course follow documented requirements such as power supply.

Yes, no communication to/from the referenced module.

I'm a little confused. When I ran the config existing modules (REM and General electrics modules) I get a confirmation that the modules were programmed successfully, but when it tries to clear trouble codes, it tells me that it is unable to clear trouble code 0xFFF6. Am I missing something?

I had the same "hex" codes related to REM and was told by reputable diagnost from our local jag club who also works for dealer that this related to corrupted ECM and not REM.. I swapped my ECM since and didn't scanned the car. I can check if those hex codes were gone..

Thanks,
I appreciate that. I'll look into the ECM.Did you have your ECM programmed by the dealer or did you do it yourself?

I too just got a 0xfff6 code from the REM and it was due to a loss of communication. It asked if I wanted to try to reestablish and I said no. Primarily because I long ago replaced the air shocks and figured it was trying to talk to a disconnected module. But on rethinking this based on some other posts I'm wondering if it's tied to the recent alarm sounding every time I open a door. I use the key fob to silence it but that's only a temp. solution.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

Last night I used my key fob to lock my car, and I noticed that the tail lights did not flash nor did I get the audible beep. I then tried my other key fob and it did not open or close the car doors. I then used SDD v130 to re-program both keys and now I'm able to lock/un-lock and set the alarm, using both key fobs. Tonight, when I get home, I will re-install the new REM and program it. I hope this clears the code. If not I may need an ECM. I will let you know.

As a side note, I cannot open the hood/bonnet. Any suggestions?

Remove the two oval grill sections using a thin blade at the top of

each section and grill will come out.

This will give you access to the two latches one of which

has a thin metal cover.

Thanks, I'll try that at the first chance. I'm a Registered Nurse and lately because of COVID-19, I've not been getting home before midnight.

re-programmed both keys, re-installed the REM,re-configured the General Electrics, REM, ECM, and Transmission modules and all is well. I think the keys loosing their programming precipitated the whole chain of events. Gonna change the brake fluid this week-end.
