To get touch control you will need to install a touch membrane over the screen and have that connected to your interface

Initially I used an interface that did this but latter removed it for and android nav replacement. The touch membrane now controls the android box

Wi-Fi & screen Mirroring from the phone (permitting your phone actually has screen Mirroring or Airplay)

Most systems use either a resistive or capacitive membrane over the screen to define the touch signal. These membranes have a ribbon cable with and X and Y output

Our system is different. It uses a matrix of IR led's that is built into the facia. These shoot an IR beam in the X and Y direction. A Touch input is defined when a beam is broken. This will happen in both X and Y and define the location.

When you have a membrane you are pushing on the membrane. With our system you are pushing on the screen itself.

If you fit a membrane over the screen you will not interfere with the IR Led signal but you need to add an interface to feed this signal to your mirror box.

The easiest way is a touch to usb interface but your mirror box would need a usb input
You could also interface with the phone via software or finally get a mirror unit that will accept a touch input

Take a look at this. I had this before my Android unit

Mounting is easy, once you have the head unit out remove the switch bezel from the chassis. Place the membrane over the LCD and route the cable out. Finally replace the bezel

The membrane is for your extra unit only. All the OEM functions still run from the oem touch control.
The OEM control is a matrix of IR led's that is built into the bezel, thei is not affected by the membrane
