Question Instrument cluster and security module.

Hello all,
I want to change the cluster in my 3.2 sport to the burr version and I need to fit a new security module.
I have both parts that have been removed from scrap cars, do I need to get them re programmed or will they be fine when fitted.
I guess the mileage is stored in the unit?
Any advice please?
Thanks.
John.

The ‘wood’ is just a plastic facing that can be swapped over with not much effort.

I'm pretty sure you will need to re-programme for your remote fobs and for your keys (as you have an immobiliser).

The fobs are simple and the process is well documented in other threads. The programming of key transponders can only be done by Jaguar Diagnostics software (or may be a specialist locksmith?).

Thanks for the answer`s.
It seems to be a lot of aggro, the car only cost £250, so as you can imagine I don`t want to spend vast amounts on things.
Changing the plastic may be a safer option.
John.

No wonder the burl surround in the cluster never seems to match the real wood veneer used everywhere else. It's "simulated"! I'm tempted to go the other way and install the black sport surround panel with the silver trim rings set. But its not a priority for me.

I went the other way, from black to wood!

This is the way I want to go.
Did you need to re-set anything or just drop the new unit in?
