Default JacklyntheJag - Update since purchase

Hello Ladies & Gentleman,

Since my purchase (May 5th, 2017) I have owned Jacklyn for over a year. Bought her at a local dealer for $2500, for all the things I have worked on I think I over paid, but that ok. Worth it now (plus no RUST).
I believe I am the 4th owner, originally purchased in California, then Texas (destroyed clear coat), and now here in Arkansas.

So I wanted to give a big thanks to everyone to has helped me restore her back to her glory (still working on it). But as far as mechanically, she is running so much better (20 MPG in city, not bad huhh).
Here is a list of what I have worked on, replaced, and future projects. Pictures of course

Worked on
  • Glued glove box tabs
  • Throttle cable - spring
  • Throttle Position Sensor calibration
  • Front headlight glass - reglued
  • Timely oil changes
  • Steering column - did not work
  • Sunroof seal
  • Cleaned air intake system
  • E-brake adjustment
  • Throttle cable adjustment
  • O2 sensor - cleaning
  • Coolant leak - somewhat fixed
  • Glued rear deck brakelight
  • Washed carpets
  • Conditioned leather
  • Thorough detail
  • Removed door check
Replaced
  • Throttle return spring
  • Rear brake pads
  • Rear struts
  • Fuel filter
  • Fuel pump
  • Sparkplugs
  • Ignition coils
  • Steering wheel
  • Armrest - center console
  • Sunvisor clips
  • Hood latch striker bolt
  • Power steering - low pressure hose
  • Air filter - cone
  • Steering column speaker
  • Steering column / side mirrors / memory seat module
  • Bulbs
  • Fuses
  • Valve cover gasket
  • Front main seal
  • Battery
  • Rear differential fluid
  • Power steering fluid
  • Jaguar emblem - grill
  • Shift knob
  • Shifter leather trim
  • Shifter sport button bezel
  • IACV
  • Windshield wiper
  • Sepertine belts
  • Driver door handle and cable
  • Rear taillight
Projects coming up
  • Paint job
  • Aftermarket head unit and 4 speakers
  • Transmission fluid change
  • Camshaft position sensor leak
  • Reupholster driver seat
  • Driver seat buckle
  • Clock/Radio/AC bezel - replace
  • Mufflers - flowmaster super 10

Could not do all this without the help of this forums and its members.

Adding things as I remember

You've been busy with Jacklyn, and she's going to reward you for that. Good to see it coming along so well. What a great color! Is that "titanium" or some blue shade? You should stay with the same color when you repaint.

Thank you Sleekjag12 & Mark,

It sure is titanium! I will be sticking with the same color. 1 year later, some lumps of money, and hours of laborious work it is definitely paying off. I can see why many of us on this forum go far and beyond to restore these cars as they can last a very long time (even though the x300s value is not very high) and they are just exceptionally beautiful.

The titanium is a great color, especially when clean. It really looks like liquid metal.

But like black, when dirty... not so much. It just looks gray.
