Default Rusty goes to Monaco

Rusty the £500 x300 is currently on route to Monaco, hope she holds up. Preparation include fitting a side exhaust that was too loud and had to be removed, leaving no time for any other prep. Got a friend with us, “big orange” the F Pace SVR.

Ready or not, Rusty looks ready! Jerry cans topped with Petrol. He sure has a way of attracting fine companions! You never know where he might meet one... Lets go, I've never been to Monaco!

Broken down in Monaco, overheating in the traffic. Both fan fuses blown! Hopefully no long term damage ?

Interesting how Rusty blends right in with the Monaco scene. McLarens, Yachts, Formula 1, hot babes etc. Everyone is looking at Rusty!

All the attention has caused him to pop a hose?

You can leave the freon low pressure 2 wire switch installed to the freon line , clip off the connector , and splice the wires on the car side

This accomplishes the TSB which keeps your A/ C working as normal and the A / C controls as normal

To test the cooling fans operation remove the 3 wire connector on the left aft rear of the radiator ( this is a 2 temp switch )

Do not clip off this connector

Place a paper clip from one White wire to Black , remove clip and jumper the other White wire to the same Black

This is a low current section of the circuit so no arcing hazard

This does not test the temp switch as itself

Thank you for info on fan fix, I just used 40amp fuses instead of 30amp. All seems good now. Done another 900 kilometres today to Reims, home of champagne 🍾

Got back Sunday, 2100 miles in Four days. One was spent in Monaco so there days driving. Rusty performed perfectly only overheating on the Grand Prix circuit as I hadn’t fixed an ongoing fan issue. Averaging 22,5 mpg the 5ltr SVR F Pace that accompanied us did better at 27mpg! I don’t think my roof rack helped much given the wind noise it generated. Where to Next ?

The test with the paper clip on the 3 wire connector at the thermoswitch will verify the fan control relay module and fans operate correctly

The thermoswitch on the radiator would have to be removed and placed in a hot water bath and pliers and the tripping points are 86 and 100 C

The balck colored relay module for the X308 V8 is different and will not work

So they make it easy for you with the boiling point of water should give you both fans

to go above !00 C salt will increase about 0.5 C for each 58 grams of dissolved salt per kilogram of water

And the switch should eventually trip

If the relay module is mounted with the wires up , water will get inside ruining the relay contacts

Mine was
