Default Steering rack mna3890ab vs mna3891ab

Hello,

i have a leak in my steering rack (left boot) and after searching for the repair i reached the conclusion that better buy a used one (with risk of leaking ) or a refurbished.

thing is i have been seeing both this part numbers mna3890ab vs mna3891ab for lhd and with servotronic!

cant seem to find anything on their differences while searching! Anyone has any ideia?

thanks

ehehe true story! but i can´t seem to find just the seal, only the whole kit and with shipping to Portugal it is around 70€/80$ (because in europe seems to be out of stock everywhere) , then i need to find someone who can do it because i i have never done it and lack the tools/elevator, and around here people who repair those things i spoke to tell me there is 50% chance it gets fixed and 50% the leak wont stop (don´t ask me why). Only in UK i found a place who refurbishes it for 200pounds, so my options seem to be:

- Refurbish for 200 pounds + shipping to UK (30 pounds)
- Fix this leak for 120/150€ parts (whole kit avaiable only) and labour (for just the leaking side) and risk it never becoming fixed
- 150€ for a used one (ebay) and risk it starts leaking anytime
- 300€ for a refurbished one (https://www.bandel-online.de/informa...fand/pfand.htm) with warranty

There is a shim you may want to consider before installation to reduce the slop in mating gaps on the frame

I have a installation Jaguar manual that you can take to the garage so they will be more willing to give you a grantee

Hi Parker,

I wrote a DIY giving some history on these bushings and showing how I made and installed my own:

Cheers,

That's where I remembered it
tions

Paulofvfreitas , if you look from the top of the engine compartment to the bottom through the steering rack you may see a air gap if the light is right from the bottom of the car

The attached file below has some installation instructions

The other Doc I had does not have full installation instructions but that one has the area of the importance of lining up the index marks on the circle pattern before installation
