ok, i have had my '95 XJ6 long enough to understand
NO ONE stocks most of the parts for this car anymore.
The patience needed to order and wait for the delivery,
sometimes...well I am dog better at it.
I ordered BREMBO Brake Pads for the front and rear.
Brembo NAO Ceramic Brake pads P36008N.
What was in the box is nothing like the pads on the car!

part # P36008 (no N suffix) ...........No N on their
Brembo website search result. N may be natural color."
First, Thank You for a response.
Over 190 views and you were the only one to reply.
my pads that came off the rear off my '95 XJ6 (sadly no R)
Are47 mm tall and 141 mm wide. The ones I received in the Brembo Box
Are 44mm tall and 126mm long and now you send me a pic from Brembo stating they are supposed to be 43mm tall and 123 long
BTW: "N" is for the NAO Ceramic Brake Pads.
There is my dilemma.
I just want the Brembo Ceramic that I have on the front in the back.
The Brembo catalog may be in error.
Or Jaguar did sum tin' goofy with U.S. spec'd XJ6's
On a side note: when I service writer, a certain Audi
4cylinder called for a certain battery. It never was correct.
Has anyone ran into this situation using these brake pads?
All U.S. bound Audi's of hat type had the V6 battery. The catalogs never indicated that.
The braking gripping power should be a relationship of the pad only area and the diameter of the brake wheel cylinder bore ( force derived by the same brake fluid pressure and same bore )
There are some bore differences in the X300s from reading others
The difference between old school asbestos and ceramic as they have different coefficients of drag . to have the same stopping power would be higher or lower in contact pad area
Brake fading factor has to come into play

I recommend you replace front and rear at the same time. Or at least be prepared to replace the fronts as well.
Akebono ceramics are great. I had 'em on my XJR/6. But the friction characteristics are, IMO, unique. Unlike any other pad I've used. Enough so that you might end up with quite an imbalance of stopping power/braking characteristics, front versus rear. TBH, this is something that I typically never fuss over but, in this case, I thought was worth mentioning.
I have Akebono ceramics on all of my vehicles: Jags, Audi, BMW, even my RAM work van. I agree with Doug - you'll find the brake pedal requires a little more effort than with pads that have more bite. But they stop perfectly well, and I love the minimal brake dust they generate. Your wheels will stay much cleaner-looking.
