ABS Module Resistor?
Hi guys, newbie here into the Jags.
I was about to do the repair of the power inputs into the ABS board, but those look ok, I looks that it melted one of the resistors (circle on picture). Anyone has repaired this? Can I do a jumper between these two points? Or do I need to send it to a repair specialist.
All other contacts seem ok,
Thanks in advance
Ivan

Hi Ivan,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums. It's great to have you with us.
Regarding that missing or loose SMD component, see post number 70 in this thread:

Also, the two large pump power supply pins are not the only solder joints that can go bad. While you have the circuit board exposed, carefully check all of the joints for cold, starved or cracked solder and reflow or supplement the solder as necessary.
Please visit the https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/ and post an introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.
Cheers,
Don

If it were mine I would send it out. Also, the posts for the pumps often look okay but the solder is not making good contact because the temp. was not high enough when the board was soldered.
Many of us have used ASI in Tennessee, but I'm not sure if they will accept a module that has been cut open. There are a couple of others mentioned on the forum so just do a search for 'module repair'. Contact them and explain that you cut the module open but haven't attempted any repairs. Link below:

A 1999 XJR will have TRACTION CONTROL so the part number for the ABS module will be JLM20556. (6 pipe, 9 valve)
If the module is damaged and cannot be repaired, a good used might be required for replacement.

Hi Jagman92,

Please note that rrosscoe responded to a thread that has had no activity for three years. Presumably ivanuf has resolved his ABS malfunction.
