Default Dead battery, no boot access

2005 XJ8 got cancer in Dec 23, so haven't started jag since. I get around with walker so it's hard to get into back seat and take things out. Key unlocks door but under button on boot I put the key in and it turns but doesn't pop the boot.
tried under the bonnet to use the terminal at top of fuse box and a grounding nut. It did not provide enough volts to pop the boot. As I can't get under the car to look for terminals. Is there any way else to try?

wrong group. Your jag is a X350.

idk if it’ll work on your x350 but on my x308 there is a latch inside the trunk lid where the license plate goes, its pretty difficult to get but you need to lift up with a long thin flat head though the bottom right screw hole with the tip near the middle of the boot . I had closed the trunk with the battery out.

His profile says 2002 Jag x-type 2.5 4dr however,
maybe he has another Jag with that issue.

I'm not positive but I think that only works with the screw locations for the larger European plates and not the standard NA ones?

Connect a battery charger to the fusebox terminal and give it some time to bring the battery voltage up.

This, or if the battery is totally dead then a jump pack set to boost.

It's how I got in mine when the battery had died & gave out about 1.1v so the charger wouldn't see it.

I drilled a hole behind tag and saw the cable for trunk release , pulled on it and trunk popped open.

I think I would repair the boot latch key mechanism immediately.
