I need a steering coupler/u joint between the steering rack and column.

I totally lost the steering because the teeth/thread on the coupler is not biting anymore

Jim,mine is MY2000,a x308 as you know but your resource is for 2009?

This is the last u joint between the rack and steering column shaft

 

I noticed that but it has the same part number as (in post#2) Item #6 is part#C2P4612 - and item# 11 STEERING COLUMN / STEERING COLUMN / STEERING COLUMN / COUPLING.

Jim, I just went to the Jaguar dealership in Manhattan to order that coupler, like what you found, only for later X350 has this coupler sold alone

I hope (crossing finger) it fit my X308 as they visually look identical but in jaguar's term. it is not always the case.

side story. the dealer is under new ownership. very bad management , one person does not know another person does there at all and pointing me all around thou the part guy is cool.

Not sure it helps but the part you are after looks identicle to what they use on XKs, its the UJ that actually joins onto the rack?

 

This is the part I have. Mine is from a 1999 XJR. Looks like the 2000 is different.

 

I just found another coupler from ebay and the donor car is from the exact MY2000, I hope the nightmare is over

it is fxxking stupid that Jaguar does not sell the coupler alone for our X308 for force people to purchase entire column shaft for a lot of money.

as my fellow members owning the same car, I think my frustration is realistic.

people here saying X308 is a relative a reliable built car, I respect their opinion based on their own experience. but 100% definitely not my case.

everything should break down over the years, happened. for those should not happen, they all are broken down.

I can not think of one part of the car that I did not need to fix
