Default Quickjack help needed!

Thinking about investing in some quickjacks. I have 2 german and the X308 as my toys that um need... attention frequently. Does anyone have quickjacks that they use for their x308? I am trying to decide which model to get. I am currently inbetween the 8000TL or the 8000TLX.

Anyone have experience? Also my x308 is in a storage facility so i cannot measure... Anyone willing to measure the distance front to rear between the side lift points. I believe it should use the factory lifting points for the factory jack on the side sills.

I have the Quickjack 7000TL. It is a heavy cumbersome thing to set up. However if it was light and easy, I wouldnt have nearly the confidence to crawl under a car on it. I use it on my 40's, my 66, my 04 xj8, and our toyota van. I gave a Lot of consideration to what model to get. I decided that 7000 was enough but that the TL was still not quite long enough. To make up the length I have specially trimmed a set of several 2x6 and 8's which I have marked left and right, front rear and which car. it works well, and I use it at least monthly. My 66 is on it right now. It lifts the cars high enough to move around under and still be close enough to reach. 2 things- I ALWAYS make sure the units are parallel to the car and that I am not pushing them too far under as to crush parts of the car.

Jerry,

Is the 7000TL not long enough to reach the jack points on the x308?

I googled. what a quickjack 8000TL(X) is and what it costs. Apparently it costs US$2275.
I would definitely not buy this for myself. I often thought about all the various options.
One option (for me) is a big 2.5 or 3 ton hydraulic jack (also used for 4WD) and 4 car stands.
But meanwhile I improved on that: I have now TWO identical 2.5 or 3 ton hydraulic car jacks.
That's doing the trick for me. Those 2 cost probably about 10% of such a quickjack, and I would not dare to go under the car with those quickjacks being used.

Once Jerry told me what it was, I agree: a heavy duty trolly jack and jack stands seem safer and less likely to warp the frame if too short.

I do use the cars' jack points, The 7000TL is 61-1/2 inches long. This is not very long. The jack points on the 40's are 68-1/2 on center. I decided that a 3-1/2" overhang could be safely compensated for with a 2x8 on its side. I also use a 2x4 on top of that in between the jack points to help minimize flex in the wider board. Originally, I had planned to get some steel tubing to use with the idea that it would be the better solution, but the Gentleman at the steel supply place suggested that wood would be better, lighter, cheaper and overall easier to deal with. My 66 will fit on the unit using the supplied rubber blocks, but I have found that I feel safer using my boards. By the way, Quickjack sells an extension kit which I deemed to be financially unreasonable. I was able to take advantage of a sale on it through Costco at the time, although this was not the only unit listed. The Quickjack site is very informative as to lengths and weights involved.
As a side note, I have had an 03 xj8L on it and had no problem with the unit or my boards.
Regards, Jerry

Thanks all.. I understand the quickjacks arent for everyone, but I have some vehicles (porsche) that are a royal pain in the *** to get in the air with multiple trolley jacks. Doing 1 corner at a time, and watching the vehicle teeter is unsettling.

I think i just gotta get a spreadsheet all fired up and check to see if all my vehicles will fit on a 6000tlx or 8000tlx.
