Default Replacing LNB6420BB with LJB6420BB

The brake light / cruise control switch is very slightly different on the XJ8 vs. the XK8 x308 Jaguars. The XJ8 one is LNB6420BB, and they cost close to $200. The XK8 one is LJB6420, and can be found for $30 on ebay. A very slight modification is necessary. The LJB one is removed from the larger metal bracket, and would fit but for the fact that the slotted tab at the top is slightly too narrow. The solution is either to take the old one and grind out the slot in the plastic on the new one to be identical (about 1/16 inch wider -- see photo) or to replace the electronics in the old one with those in the new one (they easily slide out from the plastic box). Yes, the harness on the LJB is too long, but it is the same plug, and can be zip-tied out of the way.

I believe I've seen posts on here listing the part numbers to buy just the microswitches to rebuild the faulty one too.

Default Soldering skills needed to replace the microswitches

Yes, the switch replacement works, but removing the through-hole 3-pin soldered in switches and replacing them requires some soldering skill and experience.

That reminds me, I keep meaning to find the info & order the switches. I've got a broken one on the shelf to try & fix as a spare.
