What did you do to your X308 Today?
Clonk isn't the shock mount. Great. I think all the joints need to be renewed on the front.
Grumble vibration not present when up on stands at 60-70 on the speedometer. Front wheel bearing, likely.
Greeeeat.

Now, having jacked it up, poked at it a little, put it down. Guess what? No more clonk.
Mine self fixes too, it's kinda worrying but useful. I just hope I never upset her...
Yeah it's true...Clonks tend to come and go depending on how our ladies
feel that day. I remember one posting that claimed his front end made more
noise after a rebuild than before. But that might be rare.

Uuugh. I hate aging electronics. New seatbelt arrives. Plug in. Short circuit. Same fault.
Unplug it, open circuit. Read resistance, 3 ohm connected, 5 ohm disconnected.
Put a 3 ohm resistance in place. Reading: 3 ohm. Put a 4.7 ohm resistance, reading 5 ohm.
Check codes.
Simultaneously open circuit and short circuit. Wut.
Pill driver's side off. 3 ohm connected, 8 disconnected. Put a 3 ohm resistance, reading 3 ohm, no error codes
So, either a wiring fault or the SRS module has a failing component inside. Time to go pore over the wiring diagram again.
Short circuit and open circuit at the same time. Pft.
Phil
Next question: where is the SRS control module? Please don't tell me it's the one marked "airbag single point sensor" up under the dash?
Edit: yes. It is that one. Where is it exactly?
Also, it appears to be a Ford system, but looking at both Jaguar and Ford information, I cannot find the range values the SRS module will report for open circuit and the threshold for nominal. Anyone has that table of data?

You've probably already been there, but is there anything on jagrepair.com to help? JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
I can't help with the error codes, but the sway bar bushings can look new and still clunk. Mine did. This is a case where firing the parts cannon might be justified, as they cost $11 for the pair from Rock Auto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...&pt=7624&jsn=8
Super easy to replace. Took me about 15 minutes. No more clunk.

I had bought 2 new front sway bar bushings for my car a while back (either from Rockauto and/or eBay) and I hadn’t taken them out of the package. When I did, I realized that they weren’t made of rubber. I did the same with some oil pan gaskets as well. 🤦🏼♂️
There’s mostly plastic in those parts. I’ll tell you what…. If parts makers are so gung-ho about making plastic parts, why not make some replacement interior trim panels while you’re at it! However, I can only blame myself for not buying oem. So needless to say, I threw out those plastic parts.

Addicted2boost: Hmmm... the sway bar bushings I got a few weeks ago from Rock Auto were rubber, as were the originals that I replaced. The only difference was that the rubber in the originals had hardened like a rock from age, and probably provided about as much cushioning as a rock would for the sway bar.
We're talking about the bar bushings here, right? Not the sway bar end link bushings?

Just an old trick.
I like the half wood wheel better anyway so I'm happy with it now.
Wow! Looks like an airbag detonated. That can be an unpleasant experience in itself, although definitely preferable to more serious or fatal injuries in the absence of an airbag. Happy for you that no one was injured.
