removing gas tanks
My gas tanks are rusted and have killed more than a few fuel pumps. I've had a fuel cell in but want the stock tanks back. Would like to take them out and drop a chain and some vinegar in it to get the rust out. I don't have the fsm, nor can I find where to download it. So can anyone give me a detailed how to on removing the gas tanks?

Thanks for the link! Besides the bolts rusted solid and snapping off on the lower sheet metal, it seems simple enough.. except for the bumper. How the heck does this thing come off? Also.. does anyone sell headliner boards for these cars? Mine just has fabric glued to the roof

All the things I see and hear about just getting "a Jag" I went through already.
Mine is down to new carpets (after finishing the sound insulation project), replacing the headliner on the "C" pillars and the rear cross piece.
Then total bare metal paint job...want to replace the piece across the rear that the exhaust exits out (mine has been filled in and the exhaust
exits underneath right now). It is coming when the snow stops falling in NC.
Plan to install fuel injection (SBC 383/200R with Q Jet) and replace the existing new gas tanks to gain the fuel return lines that are needed.
All the other "new car" items have been done... glad I have progressed
and not given up over the years.

I've had mine for 4 years so far. I've driven maybe 5 miles out of those 4 (almost 5) years! Every year it seems like i have a new project car and the jag goes on the backburner. The jag is now in front and I'm hoping to have it "done" by summer.. with that said,Anybody want to give me some instructions for removing the bumper and gas tanks?
