Hi, im working on removing my air pump and air rails all together, they are completely rusted out and rubber Y pipe is almost gone, everything is NLA and where i live it wont be a problem legally.
Question. So whole system looks like that
Basically, im following Kirby's advises and bernardembden
however none of them saying what to do with the rest of spaghetti party around RH manifold
am i right, that i can safely remove rails, solenoid, timer, air pump, delay and diverter valve all together with all vacuum hoses, and only thing i will need to do is keep vacuum switch in water rail (to keep coolant in) , cap manifold pipe holes, cap air filter hole , cap manifold vacuum spigot and tape electric connector that connects to timer? by the way, what does this electric connector do?
P.S To make this thread a bit more helpful (since im repeating many other threads) ,
i know that i can keep the airpump as pulley, or i can buy pulley from xjs, that doesnt have that system, or i can modify some universal pulley, but what i found somewhere, that i can use Bando 3430 or duralast #17440 belt and its a perfect size between air compressor and crank, and this is what i will be doing. Only downside, that to release the belt i will need to unscrew aircompressor and tilt it, still i think thats a good price for all i get with it (access, weight reduction, etc)

What year is your car? Useful to add that info to your sig.
I am using Chrome and I don't see it in your original post🤷
Just to follow-up on my response - it seems that the sig info doesn't show up when using the mobile version of the site, only desktop.
The reason I asked about the year is I have a '94 6.0 and it seems that removing the air pump triggers an error message on the trip computer - due, I think, to the O2 sensor not sensing additional air being dumped into the exhaust. I don't think you have that issue with the 5.3

got it)
Yeah, it shouldnt be a problem with my 92, i was just wondering if i can remove entire system, not only pump and rails, i dont see why not, but this car already proved it can surprise.
The long metal tube from the pump to the "Y" at the back of the block will likely have to remain in place. I was only able to remove mine after I removed the transmission. There just isn't room to get it out unless either the tranny or engine are removed, unless you cut it apart.

so, apart from that, i can safely remove everything related to air rails and air pump?
