Default BBS wheels for facelift XJS 4.0 conv

Does anyone know (maybe those with BMWs as well) if 17in BBS wheels will fit the XJS. I have a set of 17in Style 19s that were fitted to an older BMW (95 535 and 88 635). The specs are 17X 8. 5X 120 Not sure of the wheel ET although I believe the offset for a 635 should be between 20-23.
I have wires on the XJS now and want solids for daily driving and have a spare set of the BBS. Would want to know if they are plug and play on the XJS

Thanks

That's a very wide wheel, it might not fit. I think the stock offset is 33. The bolt circle is 4.75", which is slightly bigger than 120mm. I don't know if close is close enough.

One thing to be aware of is the suspension design on these cars doesn't like wheels larger than 16", it really makes them prone to tramline. A car on 15" wheels will glide down the highway in a straight line and with 18" it will twitch all over the road.

120mm versus 120.65 mm

The significance of that .65mm has been debated many times !

I'd have the same worry

Among other factors is the diameter of the center hole. The Jag hubs necessitate larger-than-typical center hole. I wanna say 2.875" but don't hold me to that

Thanks all. I forgot to include what the diameters of the center hole was for teh BBS 17s, so I'll have to check. In any case, the 17s are not my first choice of a wheel to use and if the lug spacing is off by a certain amount and the 8" will give trouble, not to mention the trammlining issues, it is a mute point. They were just a set I had hanging around. I will sell them anyway if they won't fit on the Jag.

What I'm really looking for is a set of the original 16" 5 spokes but since they were only offered on the MY 95, I know I'm going to have a tough time finding a set, and reasonably priced too. Are there any other wheels of the 16" variety that will bolt on without fuss out there. I wanna be able to have a set that I can swap on and off with my Dayton wire wheels as needed. The Daytons will need refurbishing. Thanks.

i am running 18x8.5 on 28mm back spacing. 245/40zr18 rear 235/40zr18 no clearance issues what so ever. will probably even go a bit wider on my tires on my next set.

i had to have these rims re drilled to 120.65 and open up the center bore to fit. they were originally 5x120

absolutely no issues with ride or handling. traction is greatly improved with the availability of proper summer performance tires not available in tires that fit the factory 15's

17x8 et20 is a common bmw(5 series) size. These fit fine on my car with 245/45R17 tires.

dont run the bmw 5x120, they will go on but are not the right size,

i had mine drilled and sleeved to 5x120.65

Easy for a competent/specialist shop.

but, the front hubs will be an issue, the center caps wont go on due to the size of the hub.

you need bbs RS020

these are the ones made for Jags.

they are 16x7.5 et30

there is a rear spec at 16x8.5 but I cant recall model number.

find a set if these and have them rebuilt to 17” if you want bbs and have to have 17”

or speak to Image Wheels, they have many similarly styled options
