Default Coupe' window motor Aussie solution

For those XJS Coupe' owners of the Aussie variety, I have a solution to the failed electric window motor. I hope I am not duplicating someone else's post.
My nylon gear wheel had stripped teeth and I was unable to find a replacement gear.
I searched eBay for used replacement motors but the price and shipping were too expensive.
A VK - VS Holden motor can be had for about Au$160 but used ones like mine are available for half that, and with slight modifications, perform same as the original.
I can provide modification details for anyone interested.

Same 8 tooth gear

Height modification

Same assembly fitment

Goodo.

Simple cars these XJS's.

The nylon "wheels" in the lift track, Bunnings, shower screen wheels, sweet as.

OR

Sliding door wheels from Rollco, Black colour, but I doubt the car cares.

Here is a link for new motors in Australia. I have not bought this item so I suggest you do your own research.

Here is a sketch of how I turned up these spacers on my lathe. I used aluminium stock, a sprint kart tie rod.

All dimensions in mm.

So to be clear, you used the Holden unit in its entirety without any mods apart from the spacers, and it bolted straight into the door/window metalwork just like the original?

That's correct Greg. I super glued the spacers in place then JB Weld. I used spade terminals to connect to the existing motor terminals.
