Hi Guys

Today I went to a 'Yard Sale' and picked up one or two bargains including this:

(see photo) any ideas what it is?



Mystery Object: What is this used for?

i would agree with malc. i used to use similar things in my previous life when i mended telex machines

That, my friend, is used to tie the rebarb or what ever you call the steel rods and cages used in concrete, together.

You put the wire around the rods you want to tie together, put the loops in the hook and just pull a few times. It will tie/twiddle the wire up.

OMG Daim

You are right!

They only wanted 50p for it!

But is this just the Tool I need to 'Twizzle' things like the Locking Wire on the Brake Caliper Bolts?



Its got such a Strong Spring that I had to Clamp it with 'Locking Pliers' before I took the Photo

That will work but this is what you really want for locking wire.
I've always just done mine manually.

I wouldn't use it for that, as that will not wind it as tight as you want it to bs. It will also just rip the wire apart...
