Default New Seats in/ Lumbar does not work

Hi gents. I got my new seats back today. New leather, new foam, new diaphragms. Feels like brand new seats. Unfortunately when I plugged everything in, the lumbar support does not work. Took the back covers of and I found that the drivers side has every single hose broken to the bladder, and the passengers side is missing the bladder altogether. Fortunately the pumps work. Can anyone guide me to the best and most economical solution? Since my pumps are working, it seems like the easiest thing to do is slide new bladders in there and get new vac hose….

I am not upset that brittle hoses may have broken or a 20 something year old bladder got pierced, i am upset that they didn’t tell me and put back the seats like that

Interesting, mine does not not work either but makes noise....
Never knew there was a balder in the seat, I just thought it was a rotating thing....

It would be good to fix but looks way to hard...

I'm not sure how the lumbar operates, but I'd take a chance
on this on this
and see if it would hook up to the existing pump and dump valve. I suspect once you get it taken apart you'll be able to determine exactly what you need.

It is super frustrating they didn't mention it to you while they were there. If it's any consolation - the seats look great!

Thanks.

I went ahead and ordered one similar to the one you linked from E bay. I put the car all back together now, while I restore the function and get the necessary parts.

The new diaphragms and the nee foam really make the car feel brand new. I can actually look over the bonnet now instead of being sunk in my seat barely able to look over the wheel.

I just rebuilt my seats and ripped all that stuff out. All the hoses were broken, did not test the bladders but would be surprised if they did not leak. I never used it anyway. Interesting the pumps did work still.

This is the probably the best I can do for you. The pump and bladder are usually very robust. I haven't heard of the pump dying on anyone else before, and while old, the bladder seems to be a common repairable part with a bike patch. The hoses do get old and brittle, apparently, but they were in good shape for me!

I'm hoping that once you get your hands on some proper tubing, it should be pretty straightforward. Jerks of them to do that to your lumbar system though....

thanks.

yes they should have told me the tubing fell apart. I would have paid additional to make sure everything was operative, but now here I am finishing the job. I like for everything to work as intended. Even if I never use the lumbar

If you can remove the seat from the car, replacing the hoses shouldn't be terribly difficult...of course it helps if you know where they should go. Make sure you have plenty of hose.

I have a set of seats from an '88 sitting in my garage. Make me an offer and they are yours.

In a pertinent update to this, I bought vacuum hose at auto parts store, and one of these, and it works perfectly fine, just in case your bladder and hoses are shot
