8 years ago when jdht was selling off electric seat subframes for £20 each, i purchased a couple and fitted them to my sportspack seats, has anyone else fitted electric seat into a earlier model? if so were did you mount the switch? thats my idea pictured but the hand brake on the drivers side makes it a bit obscured

 

I'd probably look to put it in the side of the actual seat base itself if possible. It feels like there is a depressed area near to the front of the seat, around 2cm up from the bottom, where cutting a hole in the leather & epoxying the switch to the inner structure of the seat could work.
Out of interest - the seat rails you used - are they just the ones from the facelift XJS? That is a modification i'd be interested in doing at some point in the future.
Is the JDHT the same people who operate https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/ ?

 

Yes same lot, I will take a look at fitting it in the sear skirt I think. There not a straight swap on my year I made up plates to adapt them. The thing is with electric seats and my use of the car is their completely pointless. 🤑🤑
