Default Quick trans pan question

Ok so I have to do my trans fluid and filter. After my last posts I realized that I hadn’t done it yet smh. So in looking around, I know that I have the zf4hp24e trans, but when looking at the filters they say “for earlier shallow pan” or for “deeper pan”. Was there a Vin cut off for the pans? Not sure if just looking at it would help with not knowing exactly what either of them look like anyway. Part of me was hoping that I had the 4l80 trans, but then I did read it was only for the v12. Oh well

Timeisrelative,

Be careful, the Jaguar parts system is wrong in the part number for this filter!

I had discussions with them 7 years ago about this and they admitted that somehow, the system had got amended incorrectly. But despite them admitting that the system was wrong, they still haven't updated their system appropriately! And most independent suppliers such as SNG Barratts use the Jaguar system, so the situation gets worse!

The Jaguar system says the filter for a 4 litre XJS auto is JLM2128. This is wrong! This filter has the long neck which will not fit in your sump.
The correct part number for a 4 litre XJS Auto is JLM664 which was also fitted in the 3.6 XJS with the 4HP22 box.

So, make sure you get JLM664 which is the short neck filter.

Good luck

Paul
