Default Aston Martin DB9 brakes

Hi everyone
Did anyone has tried to fit DB9 brake callipers to XK?
Brake discs size is same as XKR.
Any thoughts?

Just me asking here...... would there be a benefit to putting DB9 calipers/pads on an XK?
Also, to which years are you referring?

I wasn't thinking about anything else than looks. DB9 has lovely Brembo monoblock callipers, not a cast floating ones like Jags have.
Plus in the UK you can buy DB9 brake callipers for less than XKR ones.

Buy one and find out. If it works, buy the other. If not return it.

I've changed brake systems on several cars, and never used a kit once. Cutting, welding and otherwise fabricated half-inch steel plate and such, and it always worked out great.

DB9 has carbon ceramic brakes, so you'll have brakes that can go 80K miles, keep the wheels much cleaner and easier to wash.

That being said, I would see if the Jaguar's CCB brakes would work.

You'd be better off with the Alcon package Jaguar offered for 2008 & 2009. The Jaguar carbon brakes will fit as well but unless already in the bundle offered, require adapter brackets that are quite costly. There is one off an F-Type listed on eBay in the UK for 7K sterling but the X150 brackets are not included.

Alcon if fine but is about seven times more expensive than Aston brakes

I just did a search for calipers for DB9. The cheapest I found were $268 each, used.
XKR cost $150 each used.
ALCON is $800 for both front, again used.
I guess large bodies of salt water make a difference.

If you want a cheap/easy bolt-on Brembo solution then the front brakes from a 2003-2005 XJR or S-Type R will fit. 4-piston, slightly bigger 365mm rotors

You need to swap the vertical link / knuckle over from the XJR/STR, but aside from that it's more or less a straight swap.

Well I wasn't talking to you specifically The OP has an XK with 355mm fronts.

And actually your fronts are 380mm, if we are going to be precise.

Some Range Rovers have what look like fairly substantial Brembo calipers on large discs, anyone ever looked into swapping those onto an X150?

Current Jaguar line up across the board has lackluster looking brakes except for the carbon ceramic ones. The Alcon's look cool, but is on the smallest percent of cars. Alfa and Maserati put nice looking brakes on their cars at all price points; Jaguar needs to do the same.
