I can't seem to locate this ripped seal in pic on Ebay and of course Jaguar wants $150+ I believe. Can any one recommend a place that might have it used? If not best price for new?
My old XK8 had several torn seals, most were over $800 to replace. I got some two-part foamy stuff from a Crafts Store and cobbled some repairs. It worked fairly well though of course not perfect. Mostly it looked a lot better at a glance and it did cut way back on wind noise. The repairs were still fine over a year later when I sold the car.
I just wanted to update this thread on the cost, part number, and install of the door seal that gets damaged from feet hitting it. It was a bit of task to find this part number online as the online OEM diagrams show 3 seals and they all kind of look the same. Anyhow this supposedly works for all X150s drivers door seal. My car is an 07 XKR with 68k which I recently acquired. I wonder how common this is or was the previous owner big footed or lazy ha.
Anyhow this is a super easy install, no tools required. The seal pulls right out as it is in front of all the other door seals. The center scuff plate pops right up if you pry on it evenly. I did not remove the center plate completely as the rear seems to be folded in towards the rear seat. The front kick panel also pops forward enough with out removing it as it catches as the hood latch. After that fold it under the plates and your all done.
The part number is C2P16539. I paid $82.09 from Paramas NJ Jaguar online, list is $106.40.
