Default paddle shifters extender

Under some situations I wish those paddles were longer, specially on the XKR. Anything nicely designed available for a Jaguar?
Same smallish paddles are on my XJ, and previous XFs.

Oops, just saw a previous thread on this subject here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nsions-192624/

That was my thread. The link in my Post #1 no longer works, so you'll have to search elsewhere for similar paddle extensions.

Arden sells a set of brushed aluminum paddles. Warning, they are not cheap.

They appear to be exactly the same as mine, in the above picture in my Post #2.

My first mod was a set of aluminum Jaguar paddle shifters. They feel good and are extended compared to the stock plastic ones. IMO a perfect size.

I rubber-banded some large popsicle sticks on mine..... worked OK until they slipped off.

You're a genius! Did you paint them black or leave natural with saliva still on them?

Drooled-on wood. I really did this, just to see if I thought any improvement may be had for the real things. I found out that I use the center of the paddles anyway, and the extension would be merely cosmetic and not worth the effort in MY case.

A warning to those looking at these stick-on paddle extenders... they will put your paddles VERY close to the wiper and signal stalks.. to the point that your hands cannot fit between them. If your driving style is to have your hands on the paddles at all times, you will need to adjust it so that you only touch the paddles when you shift... and have to be careful when paddle shifting during a turn or risk turning on/off wipers or turn signals.

I was going to try the used Popsicle sticks but decided they would be too sticky. So I went with Stuarts extenders and bent them a little in a vise to enlarge tthe distance between the built in stalks and they work fine for me.

This was part of the problem I encountered... That and the fact the top portion also stuck out far enough to hit my leg as I turned the wheel. So I sawed a slot in the thickness right above mount, and bent the upper part of the lever parallel to the steering wheel.

Soooo much better.......................

That looks like a much more natural angle. That'll be another winter project for me this year. Thanks!

It certainly feels better, and gives your fingers room between it and the control stocks. I've really come to love them now.
They are a bitch to bend, even with the cut slots, but with a vice, a block of wood and a big-bigger-biggest hammer, things slowly begin to move!

So I received and installed the extensions as is. So far I like them, and for me, they are not too close to the stalks, except at a certain turning position of the steering wheel which is not a big deal for me. Certainly it will take time to fully get used to them. I do wish the edges were more rounded though.
