Puddle light not working

Puddle light not working
Looking for some assistance please. About a month ago I bought an 07' XK and it has pretty much sat in may garage all this time. (I did instal a CTEK 3300) I just noticed that the puddle lights are not working. I did check with the manual and the console switch which controls the vanity lights, footwell and puddle light is on - all the other lights work when opening and closing the door. I did pull out one of the puddle lights and the light filament appears intact. While I have a ton of tools I do not own a tester to check for power. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I posted the following some time ago on another Jag forum - since then my captive Jag specialist has managed to program the car accordingly and now they work - so it is possible - even got the power fold mirrors to fold automatically when locking the car !!!
Hope this helps ...............
There is a Jaguar TSB which covers inoperative puddle lamps - JTB00047 - copied below. This may give you a start for a fix but I've heard people have been to the main dealers and are still unable to get the puddle lights to work. I have the same problem with mine but haven't had time to get it to a workshop for checking. If you make any progress - please post the outcome as I would like to get these light working too. If my local Jaguar specialist finds a fix I will most certainly post the results.
Good luck.

Thanks Jhdee. Good to know that there is a TSB out on the puddle light issue. I have to go in for an operation soon and then theres recovery time…...%#@! But what the hell, after that I shall head to a dealer and see what they have to say. I will post results but it will probably be in a couple of months.

I know this is an old thread but I thought I offer this from my experience today. My '07 suffered the same ill as indicated in the above TSB.....(the previous owner probably never knew they were there).
Unfortunately, my most local Jag dealership was unable to correct the issue (after several hours trying) so I contacted Passion Performance in Cashiers, NC & asked them to try. After a lot of research, digging and head scratching, surprise, they are working.
Tim, at Passion Performance, told me that anyone trying to correct the issue in SDD needs to be looking for these lights as being labeled "reflectors" not puddle lights. Though I had provided both he and the Jag dealership with a copy of the TSB, he said JLR must have changed the terminology when they moved from IDS to SDD.
I just thought this might be something for those looking to make the reprogram go smoother and perhaps speed the process up.

Did you read Posts ##3 and 8, above? Has your XK had the software update described in Jaguar TSB JTB 00047 done? If not, or if you don't know, that's what I'd look into first.
A hard reset won't correct flawed software. You can try it - it's easy - and if, as I suspect, it doesn't make any difference, that'll confirm my suspicion that you need the software update.
Good luck!
